03:45 da manhã aproximadamente, e todos nós estávamos acordados, juntos e sem falar uma palavra se quer, o único som era o ecoar do vento forte do lado de fora, até que ouvimos as seis coordenadas batidas no grande portão de aço banhado a pura prata, sinalizei para James e Paul, em questão de segundos eles assumiram, cada um seus postos, com as armas apontadas para a estreita abertura no portão por onde todos passávamos, quando colocaram a digital no painel e a pequena abertura se abriu eu avistei o Frankie e o Alex com uma pessoa amarrada nos pulsos e nos tornozelos, como era ensinado nos treinos, sendo carregada por ambos.

Eles a carregaram em direção a enfermaria enquanto a porta era rapidamente travada, fui para a enfermaria logo em seguida.

Ao entrar na sala fui logo verificar se minha arma estava carregada... como de costume.

-Onde o acharam?

-Próximo das ruínas do Empire States, senhor! – Respondeu-me Alex prendendo os pulsos do homem fortemente na barra de aço acoplada na maca.

Quando voltei meu olhar para o rapaz, já preso firmemente, confesso que me surpreendi, ele estava totalmente imóvel, mas completamente consciente e me olhando fixo, logo caminhei em direção da maca e fiquei a rodeando.

-Quem e o quê é você?

O silêncio foi minha única resposta, e é justamente a que mais detesto.

Ele então sorriu sinicamente e voltou a e olhar, só que desta vez de um modo diferente e me respondeu:

-Como pode dizer que permite algo que não existe mais?

Caminhei lentamente, tentando compreender o porquê da presença dele naquele local.

-Interessante... e aonde estão os outros da sua espécie?

-Não acredito que me fez esta pergunta. Achou mesmo que eu a responderia? – Gargalhando ironicamente ele me falou.

Sorri brevemente de irritação e voltei meu punho, que segurava minha pistola, com força em seu queixo, poderia jurar que tinha escutado o barulho de vários ossos quebrando.

-Vou te dar duas opções, a primeira, eu pergunto e você me responde claramente, sem joguinhos. E a segunda, você não me responde e faz graças mais umas duas vezes até eu perder a paciência e estourar seus malditos miolos. O que me diz?

-Todos vocês vão morrer e você... será o último. – Ele falou olhando diretamente para mim, sorri brevemente, tentando ocultar que aquela ameaça me deixou um pouco inquieto, me aproximei mais, ficando ao lado da maca.

-Seu nome, agora!

-Vá se ferrar.

Assim que ele terminou de falar puxei minha faca de bolso e a cravei rapidamente na palma da sua mão, pude ver ele com os olhos fechados fortemente pela dor, mas se recompondo rápido e conseguindo manter inexplicavelmente um olhar calmo e vazio.

-Nome!

-Adryan.

-Muito bem Adryan, o que fazia nas redondezas do Empire?

Ele riu por um breve instante e me respondeu com ar superior.

-Quer mesmo saber... Joseph?

Como... como ele sabia o meu nome?

Sem muitos esforços ele moveu-se fortemente para o lado, se jogando para o lado direito da maca, agarrou com força o pescoço de um soldado, posicionando-o na sua frente, o fazendo de “escudo”.

Voltou a me olhar friamente, não demonstrando medo algum, foi aí que notei que a mão que apertava o pescoço de um dos soldados estava com alguns ossos fora do lugar, totalmente quebrada para poder deslizar pela algema.

-Vocês são extremamente tolos, por isto são exterminados com tanta facilidade.

Eu permaneci em meu lugar sem mover um músculo, apenas o observando seriamente, como ele mesmo havia feito minutos antes.

-Lembra do lhe disse, não lembra Joseph?!

-O que você quer?

-Nada demais, apenas conhecer um a um dos últimos humanos vivos... até hoje.

Pensei claramente em tudo que ele havia dito até então e em sua resposta incomum para mim, logo tudo foi se encaixando.

-Isso tudo foi... um plano?

Ele sorriu e logo me respondeu ainda sorrindo:

-Eu confesso que já fiz planos grandiosos, mas este simples plano já estava a altura do intelecto de vocês.

-Qual o objetivo principal deste plano então?

-Ora, ora, vamos com calma Joseph. Não está com pressa, está?!

-Claro que não, é apenas... curiosidade.

Ele sorriu e olhou atentamente para ambos os lados, analisando bem toda a sala.

-Você está cercado, não tem como fugir daqui.

-E quem lhe disse que eu iria fugir?!

Neste momento ouvimos um poderoso estrondo no grande portão, tão forte que teria garantido que tinham o derrubado se não estivesse com os olhos voltados para ele.

Aproveitando da distração, Adryan puxou com força seu braço direito, arrancando a barra de aço que o prendia, ficando livre.

O som de sua risada foi a única coisa que ecoava em toda enfermaria, um riso de zombação, de superioridade... de vitória.

-Nossa conversa estava ótima Joseph, mas não posso perder mais tempo.

Em questão de milésimos Adryan golpeia com força os dois soldados próximos a ele na cabeça, quando os soldados que estavam posicionados mais acima abriram fogo ele girou em uma velocidade graciosa para trás do que segurava pelo pescoço, puxou a sua faca de bolso e cortou fora a mão do soldado que a está hora já estava cheio de balas.

Puxei minha pistola e antes de atirar nele pude ver que ele segurava a mão que arrancou do soldado e a arremeçou com força por cima de todos nós, atingindo o painel de digitais, que confirmou e abriu o grande portão de aço, logo mais cinco entraram com sua velocidade única e começaram a atacar todos, ou melhor, quase todos.

Todos os vampiros passavam bem ao meu lado mas não me atacavam, simplesmente me ignoravam enquanto eu corria, tentando alcança a sala de armas, quando cheguei em frente a porta dela fui golpeado com um chute direto no meu rosto, me fazendo voar até a parede brutalmente.

Com a boca toda ensangüentada e o corpo com fraturas devido a batida na parede levantei um pouco meu olhar e vi que Adryan tinha me impedido, ele estava parado na frente da porta me olhando ofegar.

-Joseph, como se já não bastasse vocês mesmos, até a memória que possuem é fraca?!

Ali no chão, juntando forças para me levantar me lembrei da frase que ele havia me dito... “Todos vocês vão morrer e você... será o último.”

Eu podia ouvir todos os gritos agonizantes dos meus soldados morrendo, e eu ali, machucado, me rastejando para levantar-me, não podendo salva-los.

-O mestre Joseph está comovido em saber que todos seus soldados estão morrendo um por um?! – Adryan falou ironicamente rindo em seguida.

Graças a fúria que eu estava consegui alcançar a arma de um cadáver que estava perto e a apontei em sua direção.

Não sei exatamente o quê, mas justamente cinco flechas que fora atiradas do outro lado do portão acertou nas cabeças de cada um dos outros cinco vampiros que estavam ali, me assistindo morrer, depois de terem terminado seus “trabalhos”, todos os cinco morreram instantaneamente, Adryan ficou muito assustado e começou a caminhar em minha direção com um olhar furioso, seus olhos vermelhos faiscavam como chamas ardentes.

-Você não pode me matar Joseph!

-Mas posso tentar.

Mirei mais acima do seu ombro esquerdo e disparei três tiros certeiros, jogando a arma em seguida e puxando o cadáver para minha frente pois os três tiros acertaram um na trava da porta da sala de armas, a fazendo se abrir, o segundo acertou a corrente que segurava os cilindros de gás, e antes que o primeiro cilindro caísse no chão a terceira bala o acertou em cheio, fazendo-o explodir e começar a explodir o outros em seguida, formando uma grande explosão.

Adryan se despedaçou todo e confesso que teria acontecido o mesmo comigo se não fosse pelo coletes protetores que eu e o cadáver que me protegia usávamos.

Depois da explosão me levantei, todo ferido, e fui checar os outros soldados.

Eu fui o único que saiu vivo daquele esconderijo... o último humano!

O Amanhã das Sombras

Introdução:

“Nem tudo que é real está ao alcance de nossos olhos.”

Dizem que há muitos anos atrás tudo era mais simples, tudo possuía mais equilíbrio e que todos os mitos e lendas não passavam de histórias surreais que só possuíam vida dentro de nosso imaginário, um tempo em que só se acreditava naquilo que nossos olhos conseguissem ver; adoraria dizer que nada mudou, que tudo está como era antes, mas hoje, em pleno século XXVII, tudo está mudado.

A raça humana está quase extinta, todos foram sendo aniquilados um por um pelo simples fato de estarem entre uma guerra única e lendária entre várias raças.

Não sei dizer-lhes se é a plena verdade, mas a um tempo atrás me contaram como, supostamente, toda está guerra começou.

O planeta estava em paz novamente, logo após o tão aguardado término da 3ª guerra mundial, o mundo ainda estava muito frágil devido aos estragos causados pela guerra e todas as pessoas se focavam em apenas um objetivo: reconstruir tudo que foi destruído e danificado, assim não notavam os pequenos acontecimentos estranhos que ocorriam por todo o mundo, como desaparecimentos de pessoas em massa sem explicações, desaparecimentos também das armas usadas na guerra, aumento significativo de furtos de armas militares; enfim, casos que só se notavam quando alguém se dedicava a saber do porque dos acontecimentos ocorridos, o que era raríssimo, pois os que se ofereciam a investigar também sumiam misteriosamente.

Não levou muito tempo para os acontecimentos crescerem catastroficamente a ponto de sair de controle e ter a atenção mundial voltada para si, assim tornou-se uma grande preocupação, mas logo passou de preocupação para uma grande ameaça global!
